Milwaukee Arts

Ranked number one in the nation for donations raised per capita for the arts by the United Arts Fund, Milwaukee offers audiences the world's most acclaimed performers and visual artists.

Milwaukee is home to two spectacular arts and theater districts, offering audiences the world's most acclaimed performers and visual artists. In Milwaukee's Third Ward Arts Association, featuring the fabulous Broadway Theater, guests enjoy companies such as the Next Act Theatre, Milwaukee Chamber Theatre, the Skylight Opera Theatre, and Broadway Baby Dinner Theatre, LTD. The Third Ward is home to numerous galleries and unique urban campus, the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, one of the country's leading visual arts colleges.

In the Downtown Theater District, audiences are treated to the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts, which hosts celebrated performing organizations such as the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Florentine Opera, and the Milwaukee Ballet. Also located in this district is the Milwaukee Repertory Theater, the jewel box Pabst Theater, Renaissance Theaterworks, the Riverside Theater, and nationally celebrated African dance company, Ko-Thi.

Adorning Milwaukee's lakefront is the Milwaukee Art Museum's $100 million expansion designed by world-renowned architect Santiago Calatrava. This monumental project with its wing like brise soleil gives Milwaukee's skyline a unique signature masterpiece. The expansion features dramatic new gallery space, a lake-view restaurant, a 300-seat auditorium, museum store and elegant public gardens. This is the first Calatrava-designed building to be completed in the United States.
